Dr. J. Garnvwa is a Research & Development / Biotechnology transfer Scientist on Snakebite Antivenoms to EchiTAb Study Group in United Kingdom, South America and Nigeria. A scientist working on a collaboration of physicians, scientists and government officials from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Liverpool UK, Instituto Clodomiro Picado, Costa Rica, MicroPharm Ltd, UK, and Nigerian Federal Ministry of Health designed to address the critical shortage of antivenom to treat Nigerian snakebite victims. The collaboration carried out Research & Development of snakebite treatment antidotes, designed, pre-clinically and clinically tested, and delivered snakebite treatments (a life-saving treatment) used to treat victims of snakebite in sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. J. Garnvwa has been involved in every aspect of this significant life saving health project.

Involved in the manufacture and production of antivenoms (EchiFab1 / EchiFab2) for treatment of Nigerian Echis ocellatus snakebite victims, MicroPharm Ltd, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.

Carried out Research and Development / scaling up to manufacture snakebite antivenom and planned the collaboration of UK and South American Scientists / Physicians with Nigerian Federal Ministry of Health to address the problem of Snakebites.

Postdoctoral Research Assistant to Prof. Martin G. Taylor at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, U.K - working on a World Health Organisation (WHO) research project on purifying antigens used to understand immunity to Schistosoma japonicum in China.

Schistosomiasis, also known as bilharzia, is an infection caused by a parasitic worm that lives in fresh water in subtropical and tropical regions. The parasite is most commonly found throughout Africa, but also lives in parts of South America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Asia.Symptoms are not noticed when someone becomes infected with schistosomiasis and the parasite can remain in the body for many years causing damage to body organs such as the bladder, kidneys and liver. I studied Schistosoma mansoni: identifying vaccine candidate antigens recognised by protective antibody isotypes in rats as my research work submitted for the award of a PhD degree at the University of London.School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U.K
