Responsible for business development and contract negotiations with existing and potential clients. Made presentations to selection committees, boards and commissions, and community groups to facilitate project success. As part of the management team, recruited new staff, mentored/trained them, and performed performance evaluations of existing staff. Worked with municipalities, institutions, utility companies, and private developers. Responsible for managing cost, schedule, and quality control for multiple infrastructure improvement projects. Projects included water systems sewer systems, roadways, storm water conveyance systems, and land development projects. Successfully acted as project manager for up to twenty projects in various stages of planning, design and construction simultaneously. Managed a design team of up to ten design professionals to successfully complete an array of civil engineering assignments, including water system and sewer system modeling and design for distribution and collection systems, flood studies, roadway construction projects, storm water system modeling and design to include detention facilities and facilities planning. Major work included project management for the Hardin Street/Finley Road Improvement project and the Arcade Mill and Green Street Sewer Rehabilitation projects for the City of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Worked as project manager for municipal, institutional, and private development clients. Responsibilities included managing cost, schedule and design phases for various infrastructure improvement projects. Major projects include the expansion of Metro School in downtown Charlotte to include a significant underground detention facility and Charlotte Area Transit Authorities Vehicle Maintenance Facility for the light rail system.

Project manager responsible for business development, estimating, and bidding structural steel erection projects. Created safety policies and procedures for the company meeting OSHA requirements for execution of the work. Worked as foreman on site to manage a crew of up to sixteen to erect structural steel and install floor and roof decking systems. Operated various pieces of heavy machinery to facilitate the erection process. Major projects included a six story multi floor facility for BASF in Charlotte, North Carolina and a distribution warehouse for TJ Max in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Began work as a design engineer in support of registered professionals on a variety of civil engineering projects to include cross sections for roadway projects, performing storm water drainage analysis and system sizing, horizontal layout for sidewalk extensions, subdivision layout, gravity sewer design, structural analysis for industrial crane rails, construction observation for roadway, water system, sewer system and storm drain system installation. Quickly progressed within the company to a project manager and team leader for municipal infrastructure projects and private land development projects. This work included water and sewer system studies to include flow monitoring and recommendations for improvements, residential subdivision design to include roadway, water, sewer, and storm water systems. Major projects included large multi-lot subdivisions; ISTEA funded downtown redevelopment projects for several cities throughout South Carolina including Rock Hill, Lancaster, and Lake City, and a 750,000 gallon elevated water tank for the Town of Fort Mill.
