John has over 40 years of experience in various technology-driven businesses with over 20 years experience at the corporate executive level in strategic business development, M&A, and project finance. Until September 2016, John held the position of VP Strategic Business Development at MDA. A member of the corporate executive, he reported to the CEO for business development and to the CFO for project finance. He initiated MDA's diversification into information products and was instrumental in building that billion dollar business in Canada, US and the UK. He was responsible for executing MDA's M&A activities for over 10 years. Currently, he works as consultant, managing a number of key customer relationships for his clients with a focus on securing financing for major project acquisitions. John has extensive experience in export credit and project finance with active relationships with both export credit agencies and commercial export credit lenders, worldwide.John is active in supporting Vancouver arts organizations and is currently on the Boards of the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival (Finance Committee) and the Chor Leoni choir (Vice Chair).John graduated from the University of Alberta with the Gold Medal for Engineering. Has extensive work experience in Canada, the UK (Europe), the US, and Asia. He has built a billion dollar information services company and helped customers finance over a billion dollars of space infrastructure.
