I am currently Associate Professor and Program Head for Communication Studies in the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) where I have been on faculty since 2005. In more recent years, I have worked in northern Italy and southern Switzerland, collaborating with colleagues in several departments (e.g., Economics, Law) at the universities of Brescia and Verona as well as Franklin University of Switzerland. My experience lies in the areas of college teaching, academic research, and higher education administration as well as in communication consulting (e.g., training non-native English speakers in public speaking and professional writing). I received my academic training from Texas Tech University (Ph.D., Technical Communication and Rhetoric, 2002) and West Texas A&M University (M.A., History, 2019).
