Founded the law firm that became The law Offices of Goss & Fentress in 1982 and is currently one of its Managing Attorneys. Over the years, the firm has evolved through multiple practice areas to its present emphasis on Social Security disability claims and personal injury plaintiff's practice.Has represented thousands of disability claimants for over 30 years, both in administrative proceedings and in the federal courts. Successfully argued a Social Security disability case in the Fourth Circuit United States Court of Appeals.In 2013, secured award of $2 million dollars in personal injury case for victim of construction accident, one of the top 20 awards in the State of Virginia for that year.

During a partial career break from the practice of law, acted as chief executive of a residential construction and development company, developing subdivisions and building custom and semi custom homes in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. Worked with Robert Goss Architect of Chapel Hill North Carolina, who designed the company's custom and semi-custom projects.

Managed Legal Aid office (five attorneys and 10 support staff) in Norfolk, Virginia. Represented low income residents of Norfolk, Virginia in civil matters, including Social Security disability claims, and housing issues in state and federal courts and in administrative proceedings.Acted as statewide trainer in Virginia for Legal Aid attorney and staff training, instructing in Social Security disability law and practice.Litigated Social Security disability appeals in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
