Drug discovery professional with group and project leader experience in the biopharmaceutical industry focusing on CNS, CV and skeletal muscle discovery research in indications ranging from neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders, genetic cardiomyopathies and muscular dystrophies. Biology lead for multiple programs and experience with building and leading discovery groups ranging from 5-15 scientists. Experience with therapeutic candidate discovery and optimization across several modalities including gene therapy, small molecule, antisense oligonucleotides, and antibodies. Neuronal and cardiac cell model expertise with primary rodent cultures, patient iPSC-derived cells and genetically-engineered cell lines for disease phenotyping and rescue. Assay development and optimization experience with multiple electrophysiology and high content imaging platforms. Experience with analysis and visualization of large data sets using tools such as MATLAB and Spotfire. Previous involvement with new CNS and CV indication search and evaluation efforts. Familiarity with designing new research lab space and helping to coordinate lab moves.
