As an experienced strategist and planner in technology-focused industries, I get fired up about helping organizations find the right growth opportunities, and then figure out how they can win in the face of the competition. I’ve worked as an individual contributor, as a team leader, and as a developer of business processes that guide organizations to clarity on their strategic plans. I’ve been fortunate to work with some great leaders to help translate these strategies into product and business plans that got results. As a former product manager, I worked with some great technology in the automotive safety market, collaborating with some exacting customers in the midst of dramatic technical changes, and left each day with the satisfaction that our products played a key role in saving lives. My career began with nine years of customer-focused work as a field application engineer (FAE) and, eventually, an engineering manager, for custom semiconductor products. During this time I learned how to build trust with customers, to listen to them to understand the “what” and the “why” behind their needs, and how to plan and run projects that met their goals while making my company financially successful. Above all, I love technology of all sorts, and love the challenge inherent in coming up to speed on new technologies. The market doesn’t matter – I’ve worked on industrial, automotive, health care, and communications problems in my career and I’m drawn to the “learn fast” nature of the tech industry. I get excited when I’m part of a team trying to assess a new market or plan a new strategy to attack that market, and derive the most satisfaction when I have helped every individual on the team to contribute and have a positive experience.
