Responsible for repositioning of impaired assets in existing debt and equity funds; as well as sourcing new opportunities for equity placement both as primary investor vehicle and sponsor. Areas of responsibility include oversight of marketing plans (lease and sale), entitlement strategies, and ongoing development issue resolution; as well as assisting in the workout strategies with existing investment partners. New business development activities focused on value add opportunities in the SF Bay Area and the creation of an operating company platform within the existing company structure. Responsible for oversight of development operations for a multiproduct development company with offices in nine markets throughout the southwest. Reviewed development proformas, performed credit analysis, negotiated joint ventures with alliance partners, and managed training, product research, and marketing functions. Maintained additional specific operational responsibility for Texas offices in Dallas, Houston, and Austin. These responsibilities include restructuring professional staff in order to improve market profile and project performance while executing a development pipeline of fourteen (14) direct and eight (8) joint venture projects totaling $800 million in volume. In addition, was selected to act as the Chief Restructuring Officer to guide the Opus West remainder estate though Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Effectively managed an estate with $500,000 in free cash and $1.5 billion in debt through an orderly liquidation in six months and turned the estate over to a liquidating trustee with over $7 million in cash on hand.

Responsible for oversight of all acquisition and development activities for a West Coast based operating company with offices in five (5) cities. Implemented and monitored procedures for deal review, due diligence, and business plan creation. Reconstituted and directed an acquisition and development team of six (6) real estate and construction management professionals. Achieved an acquisition volume in 2004 and 2005 of ten (10) properties valued at roughly $250 million, as well as overseeing the repositioning and execution of five major new construction and rehab projects totaling roughly $150 million in cost and $35 million in value creation. Negotiated joint venture agreements and coordinated communications with partners on financial and operational issues. Assisted CEO and CFO in the formation and marketing of a $300 million private equity fund for the purchase of core plus office buildings in the western US.

Responsible for commercial real estate development activities in Northern California region. Activities included sourcing, conceptualization, construction and leasing of complex commercial projects in ten cities. Established company presence in market and built team of professionals while executing a development pipeline of over $650 million. Built annual development volume from zero to $100 million within three years achieving the highest individual office profitability in the Opus system within four years. Developed eleven industrial projects totaling 2.8 million square feet; eight office projects totaling 1.6 million square feet, and three retail shopping centers totaling 1.1 million square feet.

Responsible for development on company owned land in the Oakland East Bay Area. Key activities included development and leasing of a 400,000 square foot retail center and five industrial buildings totaling 750,000 square feet; as well as securing entitlements for a 400 acre master planned commercial and residential community including 500 homes, a golf course, and 2 million square feet of office space.
