From 2/29/2016 until 5/29/2016 I was a contractor (IDR) and my title was Mid-Level Java Developer. In this role I trained on the Claim Center application and delivered fixes on a variety of trouble tickets. The main technologies used were Java, Gosu (a java derivative used by ClaimCenter) and ClaimCenter.On 5/29/2016 I was hired by Direct General which was soon purchased by National General Insurance Co. My title became Software Developer III. National General was a .Net shop and my director quickly positioned our team to move into .Net development projects. I transitioned to our new .Net development team. We received formal .Net and C# training including on site through Hands On Technical Training (HOTT) courses in beginning and advanced .Net. We devoted time regularly to additional training through PluralSight and self study. We soon began work on our first production .Net projects: Unified Desktop and Unified Services.

I developed the HRScheduler application. This is essentially a mail-bot used to schedule interviews for the HR department. It featured a Windows Service component to listen for new email interview requests and an API component that extracts meeting details, sends invitations and confirms and schedules meetings. The main technologies used were .Net Framework, C#, Unity, Entity Framework 6, Windows Services, Exchange Managed Web Service API, Microsoft Recognizers library, Stanford Natural Language library, Regular Expressions, AutoMapper, log4net, html and css.

I was one of two main developers on our new .Net Development team to create the Unified Desktop and Unified Services applications. Unified Desktop is a web application that offers a single easy to navigate site with customer policies, billing information and documents. I created a variety of pages and features including the overall layout and menus. I created the Documents page where users could download, view, and email images from the ImageRight system. I assisted on features such as Billing and Notes, among others. Unified Services is the Web API that fulfills requests from the Unified Desktop application and other internal clients. It retrieves policy and billing information from Policy and Billing APIs on the AS400. It retrieves documents from the ImageRight system by interacting with its SOAP API. It handles Authentication/Authorization for Unified Desktop and Unified Services. It handles some database interactions for Unified Desktop’s Quick Links feature. The main technologies used were the .Net MVC and Web API frameworks, .Net Razor views, C#, Entity Framework 6, ImageRight API, AutoMapper, log4net, Javascript, JQuery, JQueryUI, Bootstrap 3, html and css.

I helped develop the NatGen Rewards web application which allowed agents to enroll in “NatGen Rewards” promotions, view their points and redeem them for rewards they had earned. The site also was used to administer promotions. I created several of the web application’s components, including the main page for the site. Here agents could view active and upcoming promotions, opt into promotions and view their points history. I also created the Rewards History and Points Redemption pages. The main technologies used were the .Net Framework, C#, Entity Framework, SQL, SQL Server Management Studio, Angular 4, javascript, PrimeNG DataTables, Bootstrap 3, html and css.

I developed the EnterpriseSMS application, a RESTful API for company wide use to communicate via SMS messages with customers. This system supports immediate and batch processing of messages. I also developed the Admin component with an Angular 7 front end. The main technologies used were the .Net Core 2.0 framework, C#, Entity Framework Core, SQL, SQL Server Management Studio, Twilio, Angular 7, Swagger, html and css.

Trouble Administration application development teamJava and J2EE software development on a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing various mission critical trouble administration systems.• Helped develop the new gateway to the Enterprise Trouble Management System. ETMS replaced several older trouble administration components scheduled for retirement. Created a bridge process to keep ETMS in synch with those satellite systems that would remain active. • Redesigned and rewrote the TADI daemon processes to leverage newly available servers. This greatly improved load balancing capability, availability and DR readiness while reducing CPU usage and enhancing performance.• Coordinated for our team during a major data center migration which involved every environment from development to production and cooperation with multiple teams. Retail Express Application Development team• Retail Express, one of Verizon’s ordering and provisioning systems, interfaced with various systems in real time using CORBA. Alternatively, they could use batch file processing. I developed the C++ program to process these batch files and post the individual records contained in them as separate events to Retail Express via CORBA.
