This product went into operation the day after delivery and has had over 200 uses in the first 3 months.Gas leak repair kit (HVGE/T)I project managed and technically led the development of a range of novel tools to mitigate and repair damage to gas pipelines. Working closely with a selected group of managers and field engineers, I worked to develop tools that were not only robust and reliable but were also intuitive to use. This project has led to the development of a manufacturing function within the business to support the delivery of commercial products.StreetScoreI instigated, managed and led the development of products, processes and solutions to reduce the impact of roadworks on disabled people. We discovered that the main barrier to disabled people negotiating through roadworks was rooted in engineer behaviours and a lack of understanding of their vulnerabilities and needs. We developed and delivered a training package and a code of practice to assist engineers in reducing the impact on disabled people. We developed and trialed several physical products based around the layout of roadworks, which received excellent feedback from the focus groups. An example of the ‘nothing about us without us’ philosophy.ValveCareI led the development of a tool kit to inspect buried gas valves and pipes removing the cost and environmental impact of excavation. as the sole mechanical resource within the company, was responsible for everything from sales input, thru design and build and finally to test and despatch. Development of smalld rift PVT gauges and Industrial computers.

Started as a grad and progressed to feasabiliy, concept design and some PM. Designing all sorts from heatsinks, front panels, SIUs and fibre optic management systems. Undertook feaability for worlds longest single span comms cable without substation. Also worked on worlds first multi channel tuneable laser.
