I'm a marketer's dream.I have been called that before. Probably was not a compliment at the time. But, I will definitely take it now. I'm a marketer's dream because I like marketing. I like working at marketing companies. I like explaining things to people and getting them on board with an idea. Whether that idea is mine regarding a legal or compliance opinion or it's an idea my marketing team needs approval on, I love working on selling ideas.As General Counsel, I get to help guide the company down the right path taking into account strategy, risk tolerances and the desired outcome. I also think a lot about culture in a remote first company and how we get work done in the distributed organization in my role as Talent and Culture leader.Both of these areas are heavily reliant on selling ideas. They may not seem to be at first, but "every job is sales". And if that's true, then marketing is important, too.
