As the Director of the US Distribution & Field Operations, I was challenged to turn around an underperforming operation and invigorate an uninspired culture amid the company’s reprioritization from print to digital. Following Yell Group’s purchase of McLeodUSA Publishing in 2002, I grew to direct all warehouse, distribution, logistics, and customer service operations throughout the Southern Region.During this time, I oversaw the project management of 135 markets across 14 states, supervising 36 direct/indirect reports with a delivery network of 3K+ independent contractors.✔Built the region from the ground up, growing it into the largest and most successful of 7 regions across the US.✔Reduced delivery costs $1M (10%) within 2 years by launching an internal delivery business.✔Improved delivery quality 39% and on-time delivery 12% while reducing delivery concerns 53% through the introduction of standard operating procedures (SOPs).✔Created and rolled out a leadership development training program and KPIs/SLAs, providing advancement opportunities for employees.✔Overcame literal natural disasters through problem solving and solid relationships to continue operations in support of local businesses.
