VHB was the European horticultural arm of Hazelwood Foods plc. producing and supplying fresh salads direct to wholesalers, the food services industry and most major retailers including Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda.Direct responsibility for the flagship Runcton Nursery and working as Regional Operations Manager across multiple sites. Project manager for a new £8m, 23 acre glasshouse production facility at the Chichester site; the largest and most advanced glasshouse in Europe at the time.Represented the company and the industry at national and European level

Founder, owner and managing director of an independent company growing, importing, packing and distributing fresh tomatoes direct to Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and the Fresh Produce Industry. Over the course of 14 years, developed the company from a small-holding into a key supplier to the UK's supermarkets, turning over £3m p.a from a state-of-the-art production site built near Chichester.Negotiated the sale of John Hall Nurseries Ltd to Hazelwood Foods Plc in 1994 and joined their team.
