As CEO I am responsible for all aspects of our group of charities as we seek to #endpoverty by delivering tests of change of holistic integrated work in deprived neighbourhoods. Engaging those who have often been left behind, we work across community development and case management to build people's capacity to support themselves.

Now we are undertaking radical tests of change around integration and whole system thinking.My role is to further develop our innovative activities, our partnerships, and our learning as we lift neighbourhoods out of poverty.

Every hour another hard-up Scottish family falls into debt of an average £1300 to pay for a funeral they cannot afford.

The Wise Group is a social enterprise with around 250 staff changing lives through work in community justice, skills, sustainability and employability.I was responsible for managing business development including designing new programmes drawing on both evidence and new innovations.

Examples of work as Rocket Science consultant found below. Welfare Reform:- Authored report estimating total cost of Universal Credit in Scotland on local services.- Impact analyses of Welfare Reform and Universal Credit for 10 local authorities including mitigation recommendations. - Cost benefit analysis of £2m Welfare Reform mitigation programme. Fund Management:- Supported the awarding of over £25m in grant funding to voluntary organisations and social enterprises. - Designed, managed and delivered monitoring for a number of grant funds including payment by results funds.Education, Employability and Economic Development:- Data analysis of Work Programme performance.- Designed a summary of Curriculum for Excellence sent as a flyer to 750,000 parents. - Series of reviews of local support and support needs of microbusinesses.Evaluations and research:- Lead researcher for a number of evaluations of social enterprise support programmes.- Produced a Cash-flow Assessment Tool for the Work Programme used by hundreds of organisations each using it to model up to £200m in payment-by-results income. - Developed community of practice websites for employability networks and grant funds.- GIS mapping practitioner and Excel superuser.- Workshop facilitation, interviews and surveys for consultations. Examples include: major engineering business directors, Gypsy/Travellers, mental health care professional, social entrepreneurs, microbusinesses.
