 With the Project Manager, plan and coordinate major and minor mill outages. Supervise and coordinate gate hire maintenance personnel from planning through to commissioning. Responsible for scheduling, supervising and coordinating all confined space attendants during outages and normal operations. Anticipate equipment and tool needs, source and purchase or lease as needed. Schedule and lead meetings in absence of Project Manager. Manage and coordinate all asbestos identification and abatement or removal. Set up training and education programs for mill employees: Asbestos Awareness and Moderate Risk Work Procedures Work with contractor representatives to scope and plan various projects including cost and time estimates. Coordinate mill assets as needed, and ensure compliance with safety and mill policies. Effectively communicate to all departments regarding projects and related safety concerns. Responsible for 40 – 50 unionized employees per 12 hour rotational shift Ensure personnel compliance with all company operational, quality, and human resource policies, procedures, and practices, including safety and housekeeping procedures.  Schedule and conduct safety meetings with employees.  Effective communication with other Shift Supervisors and Production Manager.  Supervise, lead and support pulp mill employees to continually and consistently provide sufficient quality and quantity of pulp, steam and related utilities in the safest, environmentally correct and most cost-effective manner. Troubleshoot, prioritize and delegate maintenance, isolation and lockout/tag out of equipment.

Responsibilities include conducting routine and non-routine analysis, data collection and reporting of analytical results. Perform preventative maintenance on the lab instruments, assist operations with analysis and maintain the lab quality system.Compile records and interpret experimental or analytical results.Effluent and environmental testing.Assisted production personnel with repairs when needed during upset conditions and breakdowns.
