Following significant series A investment from US Private Equity, SCS is now headquartered in Houston with a locally based CEO. I am working with partners as a business advisor to build SCS presence outside of the Americas

Cofounded in 2021, SCS has locations in Cambridge, UK and Houston, with a mission to disambiguate and automate the complex contractual relationships between operators, service companies and drilling contractors. On behalf of its clients, SCS develops and implements self-executing smart contracts on a permissioned blockchain, bringing complete transparency to data-driven and performance-based contracts. After a lengthy period of product development, SCS now has smart contracts in place with two major operators, a major offshore drilling contractor and the leading oilfield service provider.

Founded in 1996, IDS quickly established itself as the leading global supplier of on-line operational reporting and related analytics to the upstream sector of the Oil and Gas Industry. Over a period of 25 years IDS had operations in 50 countries and held over 200 service contracts, many of them long-term, with major operators and drilling contractors. IDS was acquired outright by SLB (Schlumberger) in Sep 2021

2008 – resident Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Co-founded Baryonyx Corp under the ‘Green Data’ strapline, utilising wind and solar to power data centres. By 2010, Baryonyx Corp had 8,000 acres of wind leases onshore Texas and a further 40,000 acres of offshore (GOM) leases. Unable to raise financing to build out the windfarm and data centre facilities in the wake of the 2009 global financial crisis., BC folded in 2013.

As GM, I was based in Tanggu, Tianjin and was responsible for the general management and business development of the geological and real time data services provided by the JV to its domestic and international clients working on/offshore mainland China. Staff of ~100 local Chinese employees.
