Editor, Prweek Uk
CurrentOverseeing digital and print content for the leading title for the PR industry, heading an editorial team and spearheading major projects and campaigns with the events, commercial and awards departments. I also oversee and write in-depth news analyses and regularly break stories. Developing live events and chairing conferences, panels and podcasts all fall within the remit. Some of my key achievements include:* Shifting editorial focus from articles with little reader engagement to fewer and more in-depth and relevant pieces that appeal to PRWeek's core audience* Steering groundbreaking new projects on key issues including PR's gender and ethnicity pay gaps, ethical dilemmas in PR, social media influencers, the evolution of in-house comms director roles, and communications in the post-COVID world. Many of the projects are data-led, requiring excellent data collection and analysis skills* Overhauling and expanding the UK Top 150 Consultancies project from basic ranking tables and analysis to become the definitive, c.30-article guide to major trends in the sector, driving huge online traffic and engagement* Playing a major role in other big annual projects including the PRWeek UK Power Book, 30 Under 30 and Best Places to Work* Working with colleagues to maximise the effectiveness of PRWeek's print articles online. Helping to evolve the print design as the magazine moved from monthly to bi-monthly and then quarterly* Launching a weekly bulletin on creativity, which is now an important part of PRWeek's output and a big contributor to online traffic* Writing entry criteria and devising categories for three new awards, and adding successful new categories to existing ones* Representing PRWeek in the wider media via interviews with the BBC, The Evening Standard and others. Topics have ranged from Harry and Meghan's PR to the VW emissions scandal.
