I started in the industry working for a regional gate automation installation & service company in Mississauga, Ontario Canada. During those first years in the industry, I had various volunteer positions (including President) for the Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Fence Industry, a Canadian affiliate to the American Fence Association.In 2002 I accepted the position of Product Manager for Service Door Industries (SDI), a Canadian Producer of Rolling Steel Doors & distributor of related products. My role was to develop a national distribution strategy for gate automation and specialized drive systems from Europe, the USA, and Asia designed to meet the specific needs of the Canadian Market.During that time, I also served on the technical committee for CSA where I worked on the CSA22.2 no 247 standard for door & gate operators. This was until the standard was replaced by UL325.In 2012 I was promoted to General Manager and with the acquisition of SDI by Merik Group was promoted to CEO in 2017.As CEO of SDI, I am involved in all aspects of the company and have been the driving force behind SDI’s Canadian expansion which now has locations in Calgary, Vancouver, and Montreal along with 4 facilities in Mississauga, Ontario.I am also active in the Merik Group working on cross-border strategies, products & operations. Currently holding a second position in the Group as CCO directing our USA operations in Charlotte, NC and Miami FL.I enjoy working with team members in USA, Mexico & Latin America as such I am learning Spanish to assist with internal and external communication.
