CurrentJohn spent the first half of his working life in various sales, marketing and operational roles. Since 2006 however he has built a successful training and consultancy business with three principal strands:1. Consultancy - working with clients on a one to one basis to solve challenges in areas including sales training, team building, new business and product development. 2. Commercial training - delivering training on negotiation, leadership and many other subjects to more than a dozen blue chip companies in the UK, Europe, the United States, and the Far East. He derives huge satisfaction from helping individuals and teams arrive at “Eureka” moments. 3. School governance - using his extensive experience as a school governor, John works for a number of local authorities to improve school governance including governance reviews and involvement with individual schools. He also delivers leadership programmes for school governors.He also co-owns and runs a wine importing business (www.hcwines.co.uk).More recently, he has become fascinated by the potential of simple businesses to alleviate poverty in the developing world and has spent some pro bono time in Rwanda, Uganda and Nigeria exploring this.
