We are fully cloud-based, with our infrastructure running Microsoft Azure.This role is a wide-ranging and fast-moving role supporting a diverse set of technologiesand includes - managing Azure DevOps pipelines (classic and YAML) for App Services, Function Apps and AKS clusters - maintaining IaC with Bicep - automating processes with Powershell scripts and Azure Automation.I have recently taken a leading role in defining our Azure Governance, rolling out our SIEM solution and implementing our monitoring strategy.In previous roles I have also been a bit of an SQL Server guy - and have even done a turn as a DBA - so I like to think I know my way around SQL Server querying, reporting, design and analysis and have a good knowledge of T-Sql, SSIS and SSRS.I have many years experience in web-based software development as well as consultancy, systems integration and Business Intelligence and have come to the conclusion that good software comes from good teams who practice TDD, make it SOLID and keep it simple.

I am currently very active in building our Azure Governance Strategy and creating Powershell scripts to implement our Azure Policy. I am also using tools such as Azure Monitor, Azure Graph, MongoDB and .Net Core to monitor Azure activity and ensure compliance.I have recently been busy creating CI/CD piplelines in Azure DevOps with on-premise build agents as well as incorporating SonarQube into our build pipeline and migrating our code base from TFVC to Git. I also have a strong interest in DevSecOps and participate in our Security Champions team.As a Senior Developer at L&Q I built web-based applications using ASP.Net, MVC, C#, OOP, Web API, HTML, Javascript and Bootstrap - to name but a few. L&Q were strongly committed to Agile/TDD principles so I also used NUnit, Specflow, IOC and mocking technologies.
