Supervised all activity; technical legal assistance, education, advocacy and fundraising. Oversaw office staff in D.C. and The Hague. Led the advocacy campaign for the apprehension of indicted war crimes suspects. As an advocate, CIJ worked closely with U.S. legislators and their staffs and the United Nations to build support for the Tribunals including assisting in the drafting of legislation as well as testifying before Congress. Crafted the War Crimes Prosecution Facilitation Act, which conditioned U.S. aid going to communities within the former Yugoslavia that knowingly harbored indicated war criminal suspects. Coordinated a variety of advocacy campaigns with other leading human rights organizations. Provided information about the Tribunal to the media as well as appeared on television and radio.
