FactoRE is in early development - the goal is to reduce costs and barriers-of-entry for companies implementing circularity (product reuse, effective recycling, product renewal) via 'Local Circularity Mini-Factories', which would operate as a mix of co-op and contract manufacturer. By creating local loops of material/product reuse, these hubs should be able to reduce manufacturing and logistics costs. Under this umbrella, I am researching manufacturing tech and business models that would make a good starting point to expand from. Lead mechanical designer and system engineer for scanners used on LaserJet printers, developing products from concept to production ramp. This role demanded a wide variety of skills, such as CAD design, vendor management, GD&T (2D Drawings), and troubleshooting mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, optical, firmware, and cosmetic issues. - Designed new scanner in 2/3 of typical development time, achieving best-in-class cost and robustness targets - Contributed to, and led, the development and launch of three scanners that are reliably used by 2-4 million people (est.)

Founded and led a weekly program for people to brainstorm, patent, and prototype new ideas that may or may not be related to printing/scanning. This program has generated hundreds of good (and bad) ideas, several prototypes, and four patents.

Managed hardware and system testing throughout the development of a multi-function printer - Generated long-term and focus test plans to gauge printer reliability and find system issues - Analyzed test data, compared to specification, and generated reports for teams and managers - Found root cause of quality issues, including electrical and firmware issues
