A key member of the Development leadership team that successfully negotiated and closed a $300 million gift to establish the Kummer Institute. The gift is the 4th largest to a public university in the United States and the largest philanthropic gift in Missouri History. Member of the team recognized as the 2020 CASE Educational Fundraising Award which is awarded by a panel of judges that concluded, on a review of 3-years of VSE (Voluntary Support of Education survey) Missouri S&T’s performance merited recognition for “overall performance” and recognized Rolla for “solid program growth, breadth in the base of support.” The panel of judges summarized that the Development success of Missouri S&T “punches above their weight” - institutions that rank lower in their categories like budgets and enrollment, but who rank higher in terms of funds raised in various categories, such as funds raised per FTE enrollment. Personally secured over $40 million in new investments to the University. This philanthropy established: endowed faculty chairs, an endowed lecture series, secured lab equipment, established an international institutional partnership, provided funding for athletics, created numerous endowed and annual scholarships, built new facilities and renovated used spaces, and provided annual operational funds supporting academic competition teams and supporting manufacturing center.

Personal Performance Areas:• Participated in the development, management and planning for the $27.5 million See Tomorrow: The Campaign for Buena Vista University.• Responsible for the development and execution of a $2.4 million sub-campaign for the remodel of the University’s Football and Track facilities. • Responsible for developing the marketing strategy for the Planned Giving program – includes web, print and electronic media sources.• Supervision of all donor stewardship for over 175 endowed funds, 17 annuities, 13 CRT’s, 1 CRAT, numerous testamentary gifts and annual fund accounts. Including an annual review of “underwater” endowments and funds with donors.• Responsible for the coordination of receiving and utilization of estate gifts and the preparation of Trustee motions for life income gifts totaling over $1.5 million.• Personal portfolio of 257 prospects with total giving of $890,000 in the last two years.• Developed the relationships and assisted the President in recruiting 6 members of the President’s Advisory Council and responsible for the philanthropic relationship for 13 of its 30 members.• Supervise a staff of two consisting of a Development Officer and Donor Relations Coordinator.• Developed and secured funding for the Guardian Scholars program that supports young adults from the Foster Care system.• Supervise the bi-annual American Heritage Lecture Series program, Celebrating Scholarship Dinner and specialty events.Committee Service:• Served on the University’s Selection Committee for the Director of Human Resources.• Served on the University’s Ad Hoc Budget Review Committee. • Led a committee in developing an institutional policy for faculty and student application of institutional grants and awards.• Worked with the Director of Business Service/Comptroller to evaluate the pooled endowment and specific fund language to determine compliance with the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA).
