Oversaw the upgrading of the hardware infrastructure as well as future requirements planning.• Reviewed IT planning, process, standards and governance model.• Developed a business case for purchase of a (SAS) Project Management tool, which was duly purchased. This tool allowed business clients to view the up to date status of their projects.• Collaborated with leaders of business units in order to set priorities and plan future projects in order to fulfill business requirements.• Directed the prioritization, analysis, design, development testing, and release of all systems to the production environment.• Responsible for Vendor and Relationship management.

• Providing leadership to a team of developers developing & sustaining .Net applications for a range of clients across campus. Role involved: Project Management, Business Analysis, Design (application & database), Release Management, Project Planning, Resource Planning, Estimating, Invoicing and Customer care. • Lead the initiative to define and develop the methodology used for application development across the team. An Agile/Lean methodology is currently utilized; Thoughtworks Mingle project management, automated build testing, continuous integration and deployment are all practiced. • Project Manager on the team redeveloping the Campus Recreation Mainframe system to a .Net platform. This was a $700,000 project involving a team of 11. The Campus Recreation application has approximately 3,200 active members. Campus recreation generated $7.2M in the last financial year. This project was delivered on time (to the exact day required by the client) and on budget.• Change Manager for the Applications Development team. Responsible for all Change Management activities and processes. • Team Lead responsible for mentoring junior team members, as well as setting up the mentorship program within Applications Development.

• Project Manager, analyst, designer and developer a web based system for the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association. Developed using .Net technologies and SQL Server the system allows all personnel, activities and events to be tracked and recorded, which is a federal requirement for funding. The system will be utilized Canada wide by each provincial member group. • Application developed to maximize security and performance. The system holds sensitive data and is accessed by users with limited internet access capability. • Developed an additional web based Asset Management component to allow tracking and administration of all Casara assets for member organizations across Canada.

• On a short term contract, helped push the company’s core product to its final release. Designed some components related to the health industry and programmed using .Net technology (C#, C++ & ASP.Net, using SOAP) with SQL Server and Oracle databases. This product was integrated into Microsoft Outlook to allow for email to be sent secure.

• Lead Analyst/Developer on a mission critical web application development to allow better management and streamlining of translation request for the Linguistics Department. Assumed the project manager role at a stage where the project was slipping and successfully turned it around to the satisfaction of the client. Responsible for all analysis and design as well as a large proportion of the development work. Facilitated JAD sessions to develop requirements. Produced business requirements, use cases, and a data model, as well as numerous other project documents. Provided project scope and definition documents, as well as time line estimates and presented these to both business and technical management. Developed using .Net technology (C#, VB.Net & ASP.Net, SOAP).• Technical analyst on a project to evaluate an ASP system for the Risk Department. The system was not adopted due in part to my recommendation. • Developed & supported systems using Visual Basic6.0, XML, Java and PowerBuilder. All systems were based on Oracle, using PL/SQL, stored procedures and triggers for database activity. Work involved close interaction with a number of departments, including Treasury, Risk, Linguistics, Aviation and HR, in order to analyze business requirements and provide a technical solution. Also provided first line support for all systems in these departments including bug fixes and enhancements.• Supported the Crystal server and assisted clients requiring Crystal reports development and support.

Although Born was a large US consulting firm this was their first foray into the Canadian market, and due to the technology down-turn in the US, the office was closed after only a year in operation.• Developed a variety of internet web sites for clients including AOL Time Warner (Denver), Canadian Western Graphics, TreeHuggers and Blockbuster.• Performed as lead analyst on a number of projects and was responsible for gathering client requirements and documenting specifications for the development team. Facilitated and presented project meetings with both business leaders and technical staff. Fronted the relationship with the client from the initial analysis phase through development and final user acceptance.• Developed a web based system to allow the tracking of activities involved in the closure and restoration work required to shut down a well site. All activities, machinery, equipment and hours were tracked.• Developed a print shop web site with ASP and SQL Server. This system allowed the client to compete with competitors for print jobs submitted over the Internet. • Developed and maintained a full range of business applications including Account Payable, Production Accounting, Contracts & Tariffs Management (Royalties), NGES (Natural Gas System), Well Manager and an Oil Marketing System. The Oil Marketing System allowed the organization to perform at a very high level of efficiency by using some ‘creative’ algorithms. This system resulted in a very large dollar saving.• Responsible for all stages of application development from analysis to implementation and support. Provided ongoing support for systems in all are as of business, providing bug fixes, data fixes, as well as requested enhancements. • Gained exposure to a wide variety of business areas and knowledge including Accounting, Treasury, Production, Regulatory, Geology, Engineering and Marketing. In this role there was a very high degree of interaction with the business to assist in matching their requirements to the technical solution.• Development in Powerbuilder 5-6, Visual Basic 6, and Java using Oracle PL/SQL in Windows NT and 95 environments. All aspects of development were involved including database creation and analysis.
