    My Position within Tarmac is to ensure all Automation systems at the Dunbar Plant are maintained and kept at world class levels, thus maintaining a high level of plant reliability and ensuring that the DCS systems are fully operational for 24/7 - 365 days a year. The main system that I look after is a Siemens PCS7 v7.1 including several Siemens s7-300 and s7-400 cpu's and redundant server arrays connected by Industrial Ethernet. My role also includes liaising with the control room staff and ensuring rigorous change control procedures are in place before programme modification within the PCS7 system can take place. It is also my duty to carry out this programming, with anything from a timer change to full implementation of much larger projects falling within my area of expertise.I also look after a 2nd DCS system called H&B Contronic P which dates back to mid 1990's. Tagged on to this system is a 3rd DCS system 'ABB Freelance' which is also part of my responsibilities.It is also my duty to ensure the continuous operation of the control system networking which is made up of single mode and multimode fibre optic ring arrangements as well as several Profibus communication rings that are installed around the site.I am also an integral part of the Electrical/Process Control Team on site and will regularly carry out HV isolation and permit issuing.
