I am currently Senior Vice President of Discovery Research and Biology at Biosplice Therapeutics (formerly Samumed), responsible for leading the scientific teams undertaking in-house and extra-mural Discovery Research and new molecule Chemistry development across all therapeutic areas being explored at Biosplice. Prior to this, I was Vice President of Asset Management Oncology, responsible for strategic positioning of molecules targeting Alternative Splicing in cancers. In this role I was a member of the Clinical Oncology Leadership Team at Biosplice.Prior to joining Biosplice, I was the Vice President of the Early Development Asset Team Leadership group within Early Oncology Development and Clinical Research at Pfizer. Prior to Pfizer I was Senior Director and Leader of the Translational Medicine Department at Pharmacyclics. In this role I was headed the department responsible for strategic, budgetary and resource planning of translational studies (including a focus on multiple “-omics” platforms). Previous to this, I was Senior Director, Clinical Science at Pharmacyclics, leading clinical programs investigating targeted and immuno-oncology therapeutics. Prior to joining Pharmacyclics I was a Medical Sciences Clinical Director at Amgen leading clinical development of oncology assets.I have extensive experience strategizing and leading Pre-Clinical, Translational and Early-Phase clinical research (First in Human to Phase 2) in oncology, ophthalmology and cardio-vascular disease, with experience in drug and drug/device technologies.Specialties: Translational Medicine, biomarker identification, companion diagnostic development, clinical pharmacology and clinical oncology, particularly focused on early stage clinical studies, investigation of selection and response biomarkers and drug and device development for oncologic and ophthalmic (retinal) diseases.Personal research interests: Neurologic diseases, including Neuro-oncology, Diabetes, Osteoarthritis, tumor biomarkers, immuno-oncology, ophthalmology, experimental radiotherapies, laser medicine.
