John Hings has an impressive record in identifying and exploiting significant growth opportunities in manufacturing and multi-site operations, acquiring necessary shareholder support and City backing and achieving major enhancements to market shares, equity value and profits. More recently he can demonstrate the ability to make a successful transition into running a small business with limited resources, meeting strict obligations and bank covenants.Born in Leicester in 1942 and educated at Repton School in Derbyshire, John Hings is a keen sportsman and for some fifteen years was a County squash player. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Fellow of the Marketing Society and a past Chairman of Yorkshire Brewers Association. He was a Council Member of the Brewers’ Society (now the Brewers’ and Licensed Retailers’ Association), and sat on the brewing industry’s PR Committee. He was previously an Executive Committee Member of the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (ISBA) and up until February 1991, was a Council Member of the West Midlands CBI.In 1977 John participated in a unique exchange of an Army officer and industrial manager, serving with the Sixth Field Force as a Major.In 2015 John accepted the invitation to become President of the Old Reptonian Society.Married with four grown up children, John Hings lives in South Derbyshire.
