CurrentJohn specialises in private equity, venture capital, structured real estate, investment funds (including limited partnership structures), structured finance and M&A. He focuses principally on the corporate aspects of large residential JVs and on development and m&a in the renewable energy sector as well as landed estates. He also sets up and advises on LLPs for professional partnerships and limited partnerships and advises on shareholder disputes.He has worked on private equity, venture capital, hedge and real estate funds as well as numerous structured financings and advises a family office on investments in AIFs. He has acted for founder management on several rounds of a complex joint venture/institutional buy-in of a data centre business, large scale residential development joint ventures acting for both housing associations and house builders, and numerous LTIPs mostly acting for management teams. He has more recently been involved in the development and sale of over 700MW solar farm and battery assets as well as international solar pv development joint ventures, a district heat scheme joint venture, the sale of a publishing business and a Lloyds manging general agent and several portfolios of ground rent assets, the purchase of a hotel and advising property operators/managers on their arrangements with institutional funders.
