I am Executive Vice President and Co-Creative Director at Syracuse, NY-based Cowley Associates. Prior to this my experience included stints as Founder of Flagman Communications (Cortland, NY), VP at Smith Marketing Services (Ithaca, NY); marketing communications & government relations manager at RF technologies leader, Anaren, Inc. (Syracuse, NY); ownership of an earlier marketing consultancy called Drum Creative Communications Corp. (Cortland, NY); VP marketing at Bestroute.com (Syracuse, NY), which was acquired by Hughes Supply (Orlando); and serving as VP Creative/CD at three different Upstate NY ad agencies in CNY (Latorra, Paul, McCann; Sage Marcom; and Garrity Communications).As an "ad man," I've worked with a wide range of clients -- from Fort Dodge Animal Health, Scientific-Atlanta, Carrier, Pass & Seymour/Legrand, Raymond Corporation...to Siemens, GE Plastics, Corning Museum of Glass, New York Air Brake, among many others. In all of these positions, I’ve led and collaborated with team-members to help increase sales, strengthen brands, and achieve a host of other marketing-communications goals – by directing or personally having a hand in development of hundreds of ads, brochures, TV/radio commercials, websites, sales collaterals, social media content, and other print and digital marcom materials. I’ve also written marketing plans, managed budgets to execute them, and been held accountable for results. Apart from my work on the agency side, I’ve also been an adjunct instructor at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communications and been an active leader in my community, as past Board President for the Lime Hollow Nature Center, past Board President for the Cortland Rural Cemetery, and current Board President Cortland Free Library.
