I work alongside my clients helping them to deliver their business and personal goals. I am a trusted and respected business and tax advisor, working with a range of growing corporate clients and individuals across a variety of business sectors. I spend most of my days helping my clients clarify and then develop and implement their strategic aims, assessing and improving their financial performance and reviewing their tax efficiency. I provide constructive and considered challenge in a variety of both informal and formal non-executive roles. I have extensive experience in taking businesses from start up to ultimate sale, maximising the return for the key stakeholders. I help clients to build and benefit from robust financial and operational systems and I help them to navigate through a range of mergers, acquisitions and business disposals. I have a wide professional network of financial, commercial and legal associates and partners which allows me to ensure our clients can easily access a full range of external services that is appropriate for each stage of their business and personal evolution. I am a highly experienced trustee and executor mainly due to the “trusted advisor” role that I have historically performed and also as a result of some of the personal planning opportunities that I helped to identify.I currently act as a mentor to several successful individuals and I am a Governor and the Chairman of the Finance Committee of one of the Top 20 Sixth Form Colleges in UK and a Member of the Finance Committee of an Inner City Academy in Yorkshire.When I was at Mazars, I was a leading figure in the Leeds office since joining the Partnership in 1990 and I played a key role in making the Leeds office one of the region's top accountancy firms. I was an elected member of the UK firms Governance Council for the maximum of 3 consecutive terms and built up a broad corporate portfolio that included businesses with wide international interests as well as some of Yorkshire’s top privately owned companies.
