I began my nursing career in Cardiac ICU, eventually becoming manager of a Cardiac ICU in a Level II Trauma Center/designated Chest Pain Center in southeastern NC. I then transferred to Critical Care Transport Nursing in a ground based and flight supported hospital owned transport service. As a manager I assisted in the development and operations of post-Cardiac Arrest care, STEMI systems in a nine county area and within a hospital, and began an initiative within my unit that successfully reduced Hospital Acquired Conditions to prevent patient injury and prevented the hospital from financial penalties. I am a strong patient advocate who believes the best possible patient outcomes are achieved through enabling front line staff. I am currently enjoying my role as a Staff Nurse in Critical Care Transport which has allowed me the opportunity for career growth through expanding my skill set in treating and caring for all age groups and etiologies.
