I taught sophomore-level English at San Marcos High School with a focus in literature and TEKS-oriented principles. Daily practice began with providing an environment where students feel safe and welcomed and was sustained with a focus on identity and content mastery.

As a teacher at Bedichek Middle School for 3 years, I provided a welcoming and inclusive learning environment, monitoring student progress through cumulative assessments to measure learning outcomes. I planned relevant classroom activities and work to reinforce lessons through active student engagement. I also worked with fellow team members, sharing resources and leading instructional strategies to encourage best practices in a healthy learning environment.

I recruited, interviewed, and trained prospective staff for the summer 2017 season, leading onboarding trainings relevant to staff growth and development. I monitored financial health relative to project budgets throughout the 2016-2017 fiscal year. When the summer season began, I served as the director for male staff, overseeing 45 staff members and 300 student campers.
