A summary of my credentials: MSW with LISW-S and ACSW. Graduate emphasis was Administration. I have 20+ years in Health and Human Services, primarily in public sector Administration at the County level. As a Director (in Virginia) we brought our Agency from a point of very poor performance on a variety of measures (most notably Medicaid) to one of being cited as an example to other counties. I have personally been elected to the Executive Board for the State Director’s organization (Virginia League for Social Services Directors). As a Division Director (in North Carolina), we conducted Strategic Planning and Re-Structured a 200 employee Division. We were able to significantly enhance federal reimbursement levels (+40%) and eliminated service backlogs. Foster care placements were reduced to historic lows with use of Child and Family Teams and Kinship Care. This resulted in a significant savings (25% reduction costs with $700,000+ saved in 2nd year). As Director (in Ohio), we enhanced service delivery, reduced Foster Care population by 2/3rds, increased Adoptions by 2/3rds, brought caseloads within National Standards (CWLA & AHA), and brought our budget into actual surplus. Our Agency was 100% compliant with federal CFSR requirements and was named a 'Hub of Excellence' used by state officials as a model for services. We achieved Accreditation with the National Council on Accreditation (COA).My personal volunteer efforts include service upon various boards, program startups and public speaking. I coached and refereed soccer for eight years, winning Gold in Regional competition four times and silver three times at State Games. I also served two tours in Louisiana with the Red Cross after Hurricane Katrina (as a Mental Health professional serving the volunteers themselves).
Listed skills include Leadership, Public Speaking, Team Building, Strategic Planning, and 8 others.
