Currently working for Babcock as part of the Rail Systems Alliance Scotland team. I am undertaking roles as both Contractors Engineering Manager and Contractors Responsible Engineer (Construction - Civils) on various projects across Scotland.As well as managing projects, I was working as a Bid Manager for Covanburn preparing and compiling tenders for rail, public sector and private clients. This includes all quality and programming aspects of the submissions as well as some of the pricing elements. Also responsible for developing new areas with a view to increasing the company's client base.Recently spent 3 years working on the M74 Completion motorway in Glasgow. Employed as the Rail Proposal Manager, acting as the interface between Interlink (contractor) and Network Rail and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport.The role involved consultation with these parties prior to and also throughout the construction phase. The project required grouting of mineworkings, LDA piling adjacent to the live railway, use of cranes and lifting beams over the rail lines, piling adjacent to Subway tunnels and launching of a major viaduct over 6no. rail lines.
