• Perform mission design, analysis and flight techniques development for all phase of module spacecraft flight, including orbital insertion/free flight, rendezvous & proximity operations, and entry.• Conduct simulation analysis to identify and understand scenarios and impacts when subsequent spacecraft subsystem requirements and variables change.• Evaluate spacecraft performance and troubleshoot operation of all spacecraft subsystems to optimize the quality of service and extend spacecraft mission life.• Manage analysis and optimization of the system architecture, integrated system performance, resource management, and Design & Verification Analysis Cycles.• Support technical reviews, ground testing of new spacecraft, and in-orbit test and evaluation activities.• Communicate spacecraft status and risk posture to the program leadership team.• Create, review, and maintain spacecraft operational procedures and activity schedules.

NASA-appointed subject-matter expert and Technical Monitor on eight Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) project phases conducting cutting edge research and developing novel ECLSS platforms. The AMS-02 experiment is a state-of-the-art particle physics detector, operating on the starboard truss of the International Space Station. A pump failure in the AMS-02 cooling system prompted the development of AMS-02.1 – a repair mission to install the Upgraded Tracker Thermal Pump System (UTTPS).Assembled, tested, and delivered flight hardware for launch to the ISS. Participated in crew operability testing and astronaut training with APO hardware in numerous Active Response Gravity Offload System (ARGOS) and Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) training runs.

Investigation of optical measurement techniques for acquiring information on orbital debris. Techniques developed will be used to supplement measurements which are taken with telescopes to acquire brightness, size, rotation rates and material information of orbital debris. Laboratory data will be used to measure photometric and spectroscopic data of spacecraft materials as a ground-based model for telescopic data.

Graduate student on 3-D printing of glass study, one of a handful of 3-D glass projects worldwide. Individually funded by the Air Force Research Lab and helped secure lab funding from private companies. Demonstrated process by printing the world’s first glass fiber printed lens and other 3D parts/trusses. Research will allow companies more design freedom/complicated geometries previously unavailable with glass and can be used to produce high-quality optical materials. > Developed a fiber-fed process from scratch, feeding glass fibers with 90-125 µm diameters into a laser generated melt pool, and then moving a stage underneath the deposited fiber to print complex 3D parts. Design of fiber feeder went through multiple iterations and rounds of problem solving. Changed the optical setup of the laser to achieve appropriate process parameter windows.> Studied the diffusion of optical property modifiers in localized laser heated melts.> Implemented spectroscopic and pyrometric sensors for closed loop feedback control.> Supervised and coached rotating groups of undergraduate students who worked on individual project tasks. > Lead author on three papers presented at conferences and second author of two journal papers detailing research accomplishments.
