Oversaw deal flow management to identify and qualify new investment opportunities at one of the most active investors in the Great Lakes Region. Led due diligence efforts to finance those startups and provided investment recommendations. Supported portfolio companies post investment ensuring they were appropriately resourced to achieve target milestones and raise follow-on financing. Also advised startups through concept validation, early product development, and capital access planning.

The Overwatch Partnership provides mentoring and career development support to the veteran community, while supporting local veteran hiring advocacy efforts.

Founded the Columbus chapter of Bunker Labs to support veteran entrepreneurs throughout the state of Ohio. Organized the chapter’s first two annual events as part of Startup Week Columbus in 2016 and 2017, each attracting over 200 attendees and showcasing veteran-owned startups. Recruited a leadership team as well as an advisory board to provide strategic guidance to the Executive Director.

Managed Patriot Boot Camp’s core program, an intensive 3-day event designed to engage, inspire, and mentor military Veterans and their spouses to start, innovate, and scale technology-focused businesses. Responsibilities included building relationships with partners and sponsors of the program, creating and driving marketing campaigns to attract attendees, designing and coordinating the agenda, and managing a team of volunteers during the events.

Led a remote and disbursed team of 10 HR professionals who supported nearly 10,000 US citizen and local national interpreters in Afghanistan ensuring they had the tools, training and resources necessary to complete their missions. Organized and managed new hire orientation for newly deployed employees. Developed procedures to efficiently onboard new interpreters and prepare them for work with coalition forces. Managed processing and delivery of employee benefits including disability insurance, paid time off, and beneficiary payments. Handled personnel issues for over 1,500 US citizen employees including counseling, investigations, and separations. Advised senior leadership and provided recommended courses of action.

Served 6 years in the Ohio Army National Guard, with 1 year as a sergeant and team leader. Deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom III to clear improvised explosive devices from main supply routes. Guided and led a team of soldiers by counseling and advising them to improve as a team.
