Initial studies in metabolic disease animal models demonstrate that the novel orally active bifunctional small molecules combat metabolic abnormalities, decrease inflammation, decrease fibrosis, and treat organ damage to the heart, kidney, and liver. Diplos Therapeutics is addressing the unmet medical need for a single oral therapeutic that regulates both lipid metabolism and glucose homeostasis, and treats metabolic diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
