Southern Pacific Fibre Pty Ltd was a ‘start up’ company, which I created from the beginning. I saw an opportunity to create a project as a result of the failed MIS industry. After raising an initial $1million in seed funding, creating a team, contracting $250million worth of resource, I diluted the shareholding to help raise $14million in debt / equity funding to make the project a success. Today the company is worth about $25million and is in the process of expanding further as part of the overall $250million+ project.

RuralAus Investments Ltd was an ASX public listed company (ASX: RUR). It was formed in 2000 with commercial forestry assets in South Australia and Western Australia. I was employed as the CEO in 2010 with a mandate to market, sell and produce high quality export timber fibre. I have a significant relationship with Trading Houses and End Users in Japan, China and Korea and it was these networks that allowed the company to negotiate on the International market. As the CEO, this was a very high profile role with considerable public exposure.

Recognising the commercial value of the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), I was the key driver and protagonist in conceptualizing a suitable business model to take advantage of this scheme. Putting together and heading up a management team I was instrumental in founding one of Australia’s pioneering ETS enterprises.Managed the entire process from ‘start to finish’ for obtaining a Carbon Abatement / Sequestration accreditation through the Green House Friendly programme. This included writing and implementing policies, procedures and prescriptions to approved government standards.
