John H. Irons joined Holland & Knight LLP as a Partner in June 2022, after 32 years at the national boutique real estate law firm of Pircher Nichols & Meeks LLP. He is a Partner in the firm’s real estate department. Mr. Irons specializes in real estate acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, financing, secured debt restructuring and workouts as well as other complex real estate-related matters. The clients Mr. Irons has represented include: AIG Global Real Estate, AMB Property Corporation, Blackstone Real Estate Advisors, BRE Select Hotels, CarrAmerica, Colony Capital, Countrywide Home Loans, Credit Suisse First Boston, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ), EQ Office (formerly Equity Office), Farallon Capital Management, Fujita Corporation USA, Global Logistic Properties (GLP), ING Barings, LivCor LLC, Northwood Investors LLC, Och-Ziff Real Estate, Playa Capital Company, Roland Corporation US, and Secured Capital Corp. Mr. Irons received his J.D. in 1987 from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law. In 1984, he received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from UCLA, where he majored in Philosophy and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Irons was admitted to practice law in 1987 by the State Bar of California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He has been a member of the real estate section of the State Bar of California since joining the firm.
