Directed the Product and Test Engineering, Customer Factory Applications, and Program Management for the Storage product line with a $10 million annual department budget. Managed 6 direct and 75 indirect reports across 6 sites in 5 countries. Member of corporate team chartered with oversight of LSI 401(k) investment selections.Accomplishments:• Expanded engineering capabilities in Asia to support product line growth and growing customer presence in the region. By 2009, Asia accounted for 40% of department headcount, up from 20% in 2006. • Acquired program management responsibility of joint developments with another semiconductor supplier. Improved alignment of new product delivery with customer programs, Improved fiscal oversight and ROI of projects.• Merged product and test engineering functions of Storage product lines from Agere Systems and LSI Logic. Completed transition ahead of schedule.• Implemented manufacturing efficiencies and product cost reductions that delivered product margin improvements of 3.8% in 2008, and 2.4% in 2007.• Improved efficiency of dispositions on non-conforming material, which eliminated inadvertent shipment of non-conforming material and reduced time to closure of material dispositions• Worked closely with key customers to implement dppm improvement plans.

Managed test engineering function for Storage SOC and IP designs. Developed hardware and software for design characterization and manufacturing test for mixed signal and high-speed serial IO designs. Worked with automated test equipment suppliers to define and develop next generation test requirements and methodologies. Performed prove-in and acceptance testing on three generations of automated test equipment.Accomplishments:• Executed joint developments of new products with two other semiconductor suppliers in Asia and Europe resulting in successful product launches of 25 SOC designs. • Launched initiative to improve production test robustness resulting in changes in manufacturing practices and improved production test efficiencies. Initiative reduced manufacturing test rework by over 50%.

Recruited to build a Product and Test engineering group to support IP development and a new product line. The primary goal was to develop a team that could execute effectively with a product line whose infrastructure differed significantly from other product lines at National. Recruited and hired 8 engineers and a prototype planner. Accomplishments:• Defined responsibilities and requirements for new project engagements• Implemented procedures for establishing and tracking project milestones • Established prototype planning and logistics for the new product line
