I'm a mathematician and statistician. I love working with data. I get excited about the chi-squared test and the Monty-Hall problem. I learned at my most recent job as an actuarial analyst how to apply this love of statistics and data to solve real-world problems and impact businesses. I've thus developed a strong interest in what is now formally called data science, and I am looking for opportunities in the data science field.I'm excited to see the incredible growth in the tools available for data scientists. While I'm still more of a beginner at the tools, I was happy to see I could very quickly pick up tools and techniques through online coursework. For example, I'm now very comfortable with using SQL to analyze data thanks to Khan Academy coursework. I look forward to learning more of the tools available. More importantly, I'm excited to combine my love of data and problem solving with the new array of tools available to impact business outcomes.
