Having just formally completed my tenure at House With No Steps I am now looking to enjoy the next phase of my life and to give back to the community in various ways.It was a great honour to have had stewardship over House With No Step’s Community Services. I will forever be indebted to the clients, supported employees, families and carers who provided me with the privilege and opportunity of being part of their lives and for allowing me to play my part in their journey; alongside so many other incredibly talented, professional and caring people who are currently, or who have been in the past, employed at House With No Steps.Significant achievements during my tenure that I can reflect fondly upon include;• Having been instrumental in leading the ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and the pursuit of measurable quality of life outcomes for people with disabilities and their families through the introduction of Person Centred Excellence practices – Personal Outcome Measures / Basic Assurances / Person Centred Planning; • Growth, development and diversification of all areas of community services including the expansion of Children’s Services and introduction of Foster Care;• Mentoring & coaching members of the Community Services team, watching as they advanced along their career paths to reap personal rewards as they put their skills and knowledge into practice;• Increasing provision of supports and services through over 320 programs with subsequent revenues increasing from $66m to $113m over the past 5 years;• Playing a significant part in developing the Strategic direction of HWNS• Working in partnership with NGO's, Federal, State, Territory and Local governments to enhance social outcomes.• Having input into the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and being responsible for organisational readiness and implementation as House With No Steps became one of the first providers to operate under the NDIS.

Responsible for ensuring that the various Community Services and Programs offered by House With No Steps across NSW, QLD and the ACT truly reflect the Vision ("Inclusive communities which respect, value and empower all people with a disability"), Mission ("To create opportunities for people to make the most of their abilities") and Values ("Empowerment, Respect, Inclusion, Commitment and Achievement") of HWNS.Services and programs based on person centred and strength based approach practices that we provide include;Community Living, Flexible/Centre Based and In-Home Respite, Emergency Response, Early Intervention, Therapy, Transition to Work, Leaving Care, Attendant Care, Community Participation, Community Social Activities, Training, Independent Living Support Initiatives, Drop In Support, Transition from School and Transition to Adult Life, Children's Services, Active Ageing, Life Choices, Community Access, Self Managed/Self Directed initiatives and School Holiday programs.

Responsible for programs, services and businesses in QLD that either support, provide training to or offer meaningful employment to people with a disability.Services and programs include;Respite, Community Living Models, Post School Services, Transition To Work, Emergency Response Services, Tranistion To Independent Living, Community Access, Tranistioning Young People in Residential Aged Care (YPIRAC), Disability Employment Service, National Panel of Wage Assessors & Drug & Alcohol CounsellingBusinesses include;Mail House and PrintingPick & PackDecanting & LabellingLight Assembly & ManufacturingPackaging Events / Functions / CateringCommercial Lawn/ Garden Maintenance & CleaningContract Labour Hire for the Human Service SectorAlso responsible for the following Corporate Service areas within HWNS ;Business Development / Tenders / Strategic ProposalsGovernment Relationships
