Manage all aspects of agency interactions with the Inspector General and the Government Accountability Office.

Provide authoritative guidance, analyses, and policy support to the Chairman in the areas of New and Advanced Reactors and Research.

Led multiple branches. As Chief of the Safety Margins Branch in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, I led the efforts of code development staff in performing analyses of nuclear power plants. As the Chief of the New and Advanced Reactors Branch, I was responsible for developing analytical tools to evaluate new and advanced reactor designs including gas cooled reactors, small modular reactors and aqueous homogeneous reactors. As the Chief of the Licensing Processes Branch in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, I was responsible for interactions with nuclear vendors and industry groups like the Nuclear Energy Institute. Included in my responsibilities was managing the review of all topical reports and changes to standard technical specifications for operating reactors.

Nuclear trained submarine officer. Served on 3 submarines, USS Skipjack, USS Tecumseh, and USS Georgia. Taught engineering at US Naval Academy.
