My current duties within Merit Merrell consist of Project Managing multiple pipe work installation/fabrication projects. Most recently Mechanically Project Managing ongoing free cooling works at Harrods. Further to this I am assistant manager of the largest fabrication shop in the UK. My daily duties consist of managing every aspect of the projects. This includes managing design issues, site queries, fabrication/install deadlines and successful management of the project timelines. Other duties include, regular contact with site/ project teams, liaising with team supervisors and management of 100 plus labour, with regular reports to Facilities manager.

My role within TSL was of a Site Manager. My duties included working alongside the Senior Project Manager to manage the day to day running of sub-contractors, on site Health & Safety issues, dealing with programming issues, deliveries, material handling, managing and executing the waste management and other day to day on site requirements. My role requires me to deal with and manage on site issues in a high scale Food & Pharmaceutical construction environment and successful execution and implementation of the project timeline and daily reporting and discussions with the site management and project management team.

Job specification with H&J Martin ltd was working as a Assistant Contracts Manager. My day to day duties required shadowing a Contracts Manager, Quality Assurance checks, Health & safety issues dealing with programming issues, producing Gantt charts for project timeliness, interacting with subcontractors and general labour. This role, despite only a short term contract gave me a good insight into the way fast track construction programs are handled.

During my time spent in Australia i held down numerous general labour jobs as i was present in the country on a working holiday visa.

Once completing my degree, i travelled for 3-4 month throughout south east Asia. This gave me a great understanding of how different cultures live and work in different climates. This experience helps me greatly in modern day as i learned to interact with different people regularly, and building some excellent relationships throughout.

BSc Construction Management

During his time at May Gurney he served as a Production Engineer for the NEFU (North East Fabrication Unit) division. His duties were to manage any future workload which came onto the shop floor and clearly present in the form of aspreadsheet or graphs. Other duties included handling budgets on running projectsand regularly dealing with sub-contractors and clients. The position gave him a clear understanding of how a successful business is run and aided to his future development in the construction Industry.

He worked various periods over the years with Starkold Building Services, where he was instructed to work in the buying department of their company whilst a memberof staff was on leave. His responsibilities were to ensure deliveries were on time and correct, also one of his duties were to compare prices of plant and materials before ordering to the required site.Working as part of a successful construction business gave him a better understanding of not only their organization, but that of the RG – Group and otherConstruction Management companies. The experience did indeed enhance further his knowledge and gave him a good insight of the industry.
