Mr. Kavanagh focuses on assisting government executives in the national security, intelligence, law enforcement, and defense communities to accomplish their missions.Mr. Kavanagh is a former Senior Executive for the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he had over 22 years of a demonstrated record of success conducting and managing a wide variety of complex global investigative and intelligence activities. He was recognized by the Office of the Director National Intelligence as a member of the Intelligence Community Senior Leadership Corps.Mr. Kavanagh was selected by the George Washington Center for Cyber and Homeland Security as a Senior Fellow, a distinguished group of policy experts and practitioners in the areas of counterterrorism, cybersecurity, and homeland security, drawn from the private sector, government, academia, and the non-profit sector. Mr. Kavanagh is a Subject Matter Expert/Adjunct Professor, at Georgetown University, Master's of Professional Studies Applied Intelligence Program, where he developed the curricula for, and currently teaches, Intelligence Collection, Counterterrorism and Capstone. He is a 2020 recipient of the Tropaia Award for Outstanding Faculty.Prior to this position, he also served as an Adjunct Professor, George Washington University, College of Professional Studies, Homeland Security Master’s Program, where he taught Emergency Management and Crisis Communications.Before entering the FBI, Mr. Kavanagh was an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, New York, and an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He earned his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law and his Bachelor's Degree from St. John's University. He has been a member of the New York Bar since 1984.
