    Mr Kay joined NFCU to support the existing Backup & Recovery system and Windows servers. During his tenure he has performed various and multiple duties as required. His focus remained the Backup & Recovery systems. Roles included managing projects, incidents, compliance, providing system reports, documentation, training, and implementation of a new Enterprise Backup & Recovery system. Over the years he improved the systems' success rate from 40% to a high of 76% within the first 6 months of starting. He expanded the protection from 500 nodes to over 3000 nodes over 4 physical sites. He managed the legacy backup network where he implemented 802.3ad LACP to decrease network saturation & improve load balancing. He was able to move the Domino servers from unstructured data backups to a structured data backup module which increased the success ratio to over 80%. After additional support personnel were added to a newly formed team he trained & mentored them. That effort developed into an Operations Manual with multiple “HowTo's” for internal customers. This allowed him to make additional system upgrades, automate various tasks, resolve other technical issues within the system, and collaborate extensively with other teams (Storage, Network, VMWare, DataBase, etc.) on various issues including but not limited to: CIFS, NFS, SCSI, FCP, Networking, Macintosh, NetApp Filers, IBM DS & Xiv series storage, IBM ProtecTier, and IBM SVC. Eventually, his analysis reports and documentation efforts assisted in determining that NFCU needed to invest in a new Enterprise Class Backup & Recovery system, which he has been collaborating with multiple stakeholders and vendor professional services.
