I love solving challenging problems. It's what pulled me into engineering and it's what has kept me there as my career has progressed. Some problems can be solved alone, but the big ones can't. Learning to know that difference has also been a type of problem solving. Some of the most success I've ever had at this is when I was a Lead Engineer at Micron and I called my whole team together to tackle the really difficult problems. Not only were those sessions successful, they were invigorating. As I've transitioned from Semiconductors to Software Development I've taken all of those skills along the way. Creating a game from the ground up taught me a lot about how to do things, but also truly drove home the value of using good object oriented principles. After a few refactorings I have a much better understanding of how to build more cleanly.Engineering Specialties:Development: Java, C, Android, libGDX, MySQL, Eclipse, Intellij, Datagrip, Bash, Linux, VMware, VirtualBox, Android Studio, Agile, Git, Scurm, Eclipse. Tinkered with Ruby, C#, Python.Process Development: Diffusion Batch Processing, Nitride, Poly, Oxide, TEOS, RTP, DPN, RPN, ALD, RTP, SPC, KT, Particle improvement is never good enough.

Software Engineer / Game DeveloperScyvyrn Mar 2017 - Oct 2018Eagle IdahoI had the idea for Catpocalypse before I had the idea for making a company. Making one led to the creation of the other. Creating both was a learning experience in everything from trademarks to in game font creation. Both of those in particular were trickier than expected, but getting them done was very rewarding.• Created idea for mobile game Catpocalypse.• Designed game and selected libGDX framework for the build.• Learned the framework and designed structure for game.• Implemented the full game and released to Android and iOS.• Used Scrum and Agile development styles.

Lead EngineerMicron Technology Jun 2005 - Jan 2016Boise, Idaho AreaBeing a lead engineer was a very rewarding experience. There were two sides to the job, first and foremost was being the person responsible for everything that happened while my team was active. With as many as three process engineers, five equipment technicians and nearly a hundred tools there was always a lot going on. Dealing with the technical side of that was always a challenge. The other side was interacting with the people. That was interesting in a very different way. In my view the difference between the expectations of each individual leads to many unpredictable interactions. Solving some of those reactions was every bit as challenging as the technical side. Surprisingly I enjoyed it just as much.• Responsible for operation, quality and continuous improvement of the MDE Diffusion Area.• Created and proved the capability of modular nitride as an alternative to single SAW.• Created and implemented the new Poly Recipe Shell to all Micron sites.• Directed TEL and Nitride TPM teams to improve tool availability.• Successfully assisted with the Fab 15 APG DRAM start up.• Trained in Six Sigma, SPC, Lean, Kepner-Tregoe (KT)• Mentored and directed a shift of engineers and technicians to maintain tool operation. -
Process EngineerMicron Technology Jun 1999 - Jun 2005Boise, Idaho AreaThis job laid the foundation for my career. I learned everything I could and built a reputation as an expert at poly silicon deposition. This led to the creation of better processes that would be the basis for many improvements to my knowledge and the final product.• Responsible for keeping all processes in spec and evaluating tool process capability.• Poly process owner responsible for maintaining proper CPK of all processes.• Trained new PDE engineers for their initial exposure to the Fab.• Managed tool redundancy by writing recipes on tools as needed.• Assisted PDE in their role of developing new processes.
