John is the head of Global Information Security and Risk (GCISO) for the Elsevier Corporation. Elsevier is a world-leading provider of information solutions that enhance the performance of science, health, and technology professionals, empowering them to make better decisions, deliver better care, and sometimes make groundbreaking discoveries that advance the boundaries of knowledge and human progress. As the GCISO, John oversees the Global Information Security and Risk functions for Elsevier's operations in the Americas and around the Globe. In this role, he drives and aligns business and cyber risk strategy; educates, advises and influences activities with cyber risk implications; and institutes transformational change to manage risk. He has responsibility for the Corporate wide Cyber Security Practice, Cyber Security infrastructure and Architecture, data security strategies, operational efficacy of security programs, policies, and technology Risk management that protect the interests of customers, employees, critical technology assets, company brands and other critical stakeholders. John has shaped US cybersecurity and privacy through participation in the Communications Sector Coordinating Council and FCC CSRIC, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and Communications ISAC.
