Sub-contract work for SAAB.Working for the Hardware Team on the Collins Class Submarine Integrated Ship Control Management and Monitoring System (ISCMMS) obsolescence remediation program.

Avionics and Engineering upgrades for Civil Aviation Aircraft throughout Australia.Recently granted CASR 21.M Authorised Person for Avionics/Electrical.

Responsibilities:• Report directly to the Project Engineering Manager.• Avionics/Electrical Design Engineer for the Radar Processor Advanced Project• Systems Engineering Team Lead responsible for delivery of the Radar Processor Advanced Engineering Design in charge of 8 staff.• Cost Account Manager responsible for $0.6M.• Detailed program planning: cost and schedule including Earned Value management.• AP-3C Orion Aircraft Installation Modification Co-ordinator for prototype and kit proof aircraft for 3 different projects.• Independent Avionics/Electrical Design Reviewer for a number of BAE SYSTEMS projects.Achievements:• Successfully delivered the Radar Processor Advanced engineering design and installation taking on extra duties due to lack of resources.• Successfully coordinated the AP-3C Orion aircraft installation modifications for 3 different projects by fault finding and troubleshooting any problems with the design when fitted to the aircraft.• Technical lead for the preparation of support and sustainment reports for the P3 Accord in reaction to RAAF Urgent Operational Requirements which led to additional business for the company.• Successful engineering estimation for 2 new contracts including bid phase reviews and concept design support.

Responsibilities:• Report directly to the Aircraft Integration manager.• Avionics/Electrical Design Engineer responsible for delivering the Echidna 2A Electronic Warfare Self Protection (EWSP) installation onto the Australian Black Hawk and Chinook.• Engineering Team Lead for Avionics responsible for 12 staff• Deriving requirements suitable for detailed design and follow through to compliance and verification activities.• Cost Account Manager responsible for $1.5M.• Detailed program planning: cost and schedule including Earned value management.Achievements:• Led the Avionics team to a successful (Aircraft Installation) of Echidna 2A Black Hawk/Chinook/Black Hawk Interim.• Pivotal in re-base lining the schedule and estimation for the completion of the design when taking over the position.• Successfully delivered the Avionics design under budget and ahead of schedule.• Managed the Avionic team element of installing Black Hawk Interim Echidna prototype and production aircraft installation; also Black Hawk Echidna 2A prototype installation.• Mentored and created a high performing team.• Pioneered a managing technical change culture that was adopted across the program.• Reviewed and approved the Avionics/Electrical Design that passed all design phase reviews with minimal changes.

Responsibilities:• Report directly to the Avionics Team Leader.• Deliver the Avionics/Electrical Design for the Echidna 2A Electronic Warfare Self Protection (EWSP) avionics installation onto the Australian Black Hawk and Chinook.• Deliver the Avionics Design for the Chinook Missile Warning System Rapid Acquisition program.Achievements:• Successfully provided the Avionics Installation and design for the Chinook Rapid Acquisition program. This was done in extremely tight timescales from aircraft survey to testing within 6 months enabling deployment of the Chinooks to Afghanistan on time.• Successful integration into the team and delivered to schedule.• Successes led to a promotion into my next role of Avionics Engineering Team Leader.

Responsibilities:• Report directly to the Tornado GR4 Weapon Integration Team Leader.• Involvement in a number of activities relating to the development of the Tornado GR4 Armament Control System: design documentation, performing Functional Failure Analysis, producing Flight Clearances (GR4 & GR1), reviewing Hazard Analyses, writing Test Procedures / Reports and performing aircraft testing.• Secondment to Tornado GR4 Stage IV test rig for Systems Test and Evaluation Engineering duties covering all aspects of GR4 Stores Management System Integration testing including extensive aircraft integration and certification testing.• Technical Lead Engineer for the Tornado Armament Control Systems Test Set (TACSTS).Achievements:• Co-ordinating the successful introduction into Service of the TACSTS, focal point for all aspects of the programme and liaising with other groups, departments, partner companies, suppliers and the customer.• In 2001 had a pivotal role in providing an innovative and extremely successful test solution, in support of an Urgent Operational Requirement which introduced Interim Precision Guided Bomb (IPGB) on to Tornado GR4 aircraft.• As part of a small team, responsible for providing an interim TACSTS capability to the RAF as part of a longer term solution for testing the IPGB interface.• Successful integration and testing of Stormshadow, Brimstone and Raptor onto the Tornado GR4 for Urgent Operations in the Gulf war.
