4 year apprenticeship as a spray painter.23 years in RAF as an Aircraft Refinisher. This involved the repainting of various Royal Air Force aircraft models both large and small. Some were complete repainting at one end of the scale down to small panels and brackets. In addition all ground equipment required to maintain air operations and vehicular transport came under my remit. Upon promotion I was a paintshop supervisor responsible for standards and deadlines were met. This resulted in Ending up as paintshop manager. In this role I was responsible for up to 25 personnel, organising workload, shift patterns, holiday and discipline. I also has to liaise with both internal and external agencies for work, supplies and availability of aircraft.2 years at Akzo Nobel within protective coatings World Wide Support. This involved preparing test specimens, to strict tolerances, for testing to various standards.From Feb 2013 in Fire Protection Lab as Cellulosic and Hydrocarbon Passive Fire Protection application technician. Skilled in both plural and single leg airless pump as well as hand application. Competent in use of WIWA Douspray and Graco XMPFP machines. I have trained numerous team members in application methods as well as safe operation of, fault diagnosis and basic servicing of all airless spray equipment, plural and single leg feed. Conversant with the application of the following: Chartek 7, 7E, 8, 8E, 1709, 2218 and 1960 CSP.I am able to use both single leg and plural pumps both airless, air assisted airless and conventional painting equipment as well as brush and rollers to an excellent standard.In summary I am skilled in the application of all coatings whether wet paint, hydrocarbon or cellulosic and by all spray methods as well as by hand.2019 Started within AkzoNobel to Yacht Finishes dept working as Technical Assistant for Peofessional and Retail finishes. Currently working as Application Specialist on raw material substitution and testing of them.
